What do you think about Social media and B2B? I don’t know what pains you face everyday and if you’re a business consultant, then you understand me very well. If you’re a marketing manager and working for a B2B company, you’ll probably think that your customer or target audience aren’t using social media, but please tell me who those over 1.2 billion Facebook users are? I think it’s really a waste of our time to discuss such things like, “But our clients don’t use social media”… They use it and it’s up to you to serve them there or not! But I tell you: Be where your customer are!
Now let’s think about what and how to use it, but first we need to set a goal and a strategy. What do you want to achieve with your social media efforts? Do you want to offer and support customer service? Drive lead generation? Or do you just want to use it for PR and branding? Different types of goals and strategies need different contents and activities. I don’t want to talk about which social media is eligible for which business but if we talk about B2B we talk about these major channels: Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn. Are you already using them? If yes, how do you manage and coordinate your profiles and activities? Do you have a strategy? How do you measure your ROI and what are your goals? Before you start, be sure about them… I’ll stop at this point because this is something every individual needs more insight on!
Well, let us think that we’re clear about the points above and tell you what I use to manage our social media profiles and coordinate our activities.
Above all, I need Buffer to manage what I want to publish on different social media profiles and at what time. This is the core of my social media activities regarding posting news and contents. But for managing and monitoring I use different tools.
HootSuite – Enhance your social media management with HootSuite. Manage multiple networks and profiles and measure your campaign results.
HootSuite is really a smart tool to manage multiple accounts, monitor Hashtags and your competitors but to manage your Twitter followers, you need an another tool…
Justunfollow – Find your Twitter and Instagram unfollowers. Gain followers and grow your Twitter and Instagram network by following the right people.
I like it very much and it’s for only about $5/Year you can manage your followers! It’s very easy to use and don’t need to be explained. Just sign up for free and if you like it, you can sign up for the different plans they offer.
Another tool I just discovered is ManageFlitter by Melon Media – ManageFlitter is a critically acclaimed set of Twitter Tools loved by over 1 million people. Unfollow, Follow, Twitter Search & Analytics.
Very easy to use tool and they also offer a free plan. You can use it to filter inactive accounts. Filter accounts which look like spam and many more.
Do you want to have your social media accounts under control? Try these tools even for free! Now you would ask where you should get the content to share! Unless you are a media and news company, you’ll have lot of content but if not, you have to post relevant updates, news and tips around your business. The point is that you must offer value to gain trust!
You may have heard about Flipboard, the news App? Just look for your industry news and you can use it very well together with buffer to schedule your posts.
Another way to stay up to date with industry news is to use a Feed-Reader like Feedly and collect and manage feeds from your business field. I have about 500 feeds around digital marketing and technology. Feedly makes it very easy for me to read and manage them.
To manage your social media accounts and coordinate your activities is not a big thing if you are armed with the right tools and most of them are free! And even if you want to use some special features and manage more social media profiles, you still don’t have to pay very much. Using right tools will save you time and as we all know: Time is money.
